We’ve been informed by Weetabix that they are reverting their new recipe of Alpen Light bars back to the 70 calorie option.

Weetabix recently advised that they would be changing Alpen Lights to a new 89 calorie recipe, which meant that not only had the syn value changed but they had also been removed as a Healthy Extra B choice on the Food Optimising plan.

However, following ‘popular demand’ from Slimming World members, Weetabix have made the decision to switch back to the original 70 calorie recipe.

Our customers’ opinions are the best source of feedback for us and in this instance, the demand for the original Alpen Light bars has been too great to ignore.

Weetabix are currently working with retailers to implement the change and get the original 70 calorie recipe Alpen Light bars back in stores. In the meantime, some of the new 89 calorie items may be on sale, therefore check the syn values online beforehand.

The original 70 calorie recipe means that the Alpen Light cereal bars are 3 syns each, or 2 can be enjoyed as a Healthy Extra B.
