We’re really dedicated to our members’ success and each week we congratulate them no matter if they’ve had a good or a bad week.
Christmas is a very difficult time for many people – lots of temptation and treats along the way, making what is a one-day event seem like a several month celebration. And at this point, many people struggle to keep on track. One of the worst things possible is seeing the period as a 2-week holiday, and you’ll be ready to return to Slimming World in January when it’s all over.
“On plan, when I can”
The quote I regularly think myself is that I will be ‘On plan, when I can’. I know there’s a Christmas party at work, and drinks afterwards. I personally come from a family where big portions of food (and not always Slimming World friendly) are the norm – as well as plenty of hours spent in the local village pub. So there’s some occasions around this when I can be in control.
Although Christmas Day is just one day – and just in case you didn’t know, it’s on December 25th this year – and planning around it is possible. You’ll be busy buying presents, rushing around the area visiting people, meals and drinks out, but there’s occasions when you’re in control 100% and can still make good choices. A step forward at this time of the year, or even a maintain on the scales, or a gain isn’t a problem – as you’llbe in a great position to get through January 2015 and continue with your weight loss dreams.
Stopping now, and rejoining in January could mean that a lot of hard work would go out of the window – and worse still, make the ‘restart’ even more difficult.
52 weeks a year
Support at Slimming World continues throughout Christmas and the New Year, and the majority of groups will be running as normal. Where this isn’t possible, you’ll find group nights may have changed (our Stretford groups have) to allow members to keep on track during this period.
And as a special bonus between Christmas and the New Year, you’ll be able to pick up your copy of our New Member Pack for 2015!
