“Plus size clothes should not be available on the high street” – Jamelia on Loose Women
On 22 April 2015, Jamelia was on the Loose Women (ITV1) panel where the topic was a discussion about whether plus-sized clothing should be marketed towards overweight teenagers.
The former pop star said:
“I don’t beleive stores should stock clothes below or above a certain weight. They should be made to feel uncomfortable when they go in and can’t find a size.”

This comment obviously shocked the panel who read a number of tweets heading to the show direct from veiwers – including these below:
Jamelia: I do not think it’s right to facilitate people living an unhealthy lifestyle. #loosewomen

Why can’t everyone, whatever size, have nice, fashionable clothes to wear? Why is this a topic to argue. #loosewomen — Maisy (@Maisyplater) April 21, 2015
Very easy for slender #jamelia who can walk into ANY shop to say +size clothes shouldn’t be readily available. #loosewomen #depressing — Deborah Playford (@ladyfreebird750) April 21, 2015

The topic comes the same day when it was announced that Eloise Parry died from taking ‘diet pills’ she purchased on the internet.
