- Brand-new pack for Slimming World members includes everything you need to get started and lose weight straightaway
According to NHS Choices around seven million of us will make a New Year’s resolution to improve our health after overindulging at Christmas and losing weight is top of our list, above giving up smoking, getting fit and drinking less alcohol.*
Luckily for anyone looking to lose weight in 2015, Slimming World has streamlined its Extra Easy plan and a Slimming World Consultant from Stretford says this means local slimmers will be able to achieve their New Year resolution with ease.
Steve Mosby, who runs the Stretford Slimming World groups at Metro’s Sports and Social Club, is excited about the changes. He says: “Like many of our members, our Extra Easy eating plan has had a makeover for 2015 and is looking better than ever. It’s now simpler to follow and members will find it even easier to get off to a great start with their weight loss. There’s also a fab new way to boost your slimming power along your journey if you need it.”
For decades Slimming World’s Food Optimising programme has shown members that it’s possible to lose weight without being on a restrictive and faddy diet and to satisfy their appetite with healthy foods without counting, weighing or measuring everything you eat. Instead, slimmers are encouraged fill up on everyday foods – which Slimming World calls ‘Free Foods’ – like fruit and veg, pasta, rice, potatoes, lean meat and fish, which are filling yet naturally low in calories.
This year Slimming World has used the latest research to identify the foods are the lowest in energy density, so they’ll really help to speed up weight loss – mostly vegetables and fruit – and those which are the most satisfying and filling – mostly protein and fibre-rich foods. By basing meals around these foods members can super-charge their slimming campaign.
“We also know that getting support to overcome those tricky moments when you’re trying to break old habits and stick to new ones is crucial. Many people start off with great intentions in the early weeks of January but quickly lose heart – and focus – without support to help them stay on track. Everyone will be sure of a warm welcome at Slimming World and each week members will pick up new recipes, ideas and get advice to help them make healthy changes and get into a new lifestyle groove.”
Steve says: “Our new New Member Pack, which will be available to all members – new and existing – who come to group from Boxing Day, contains our very best advice, from the latest research as well our 45 years of experience. It combines top tips for a fabulous first week weight loss, simple shopping advice and small swaps that will make a big difference to your waistline and help you to form healthy habits that will last a lifetime.”
